We let the kids open presents a few nights before Christmas because we were going to be traveling. Afterward they changed into their new jammies, crawled into their new sleeping bags and watched one of their new movies. They were given toys, too, but we kept them to a minimum because we figured we'd get plenty more from family (and they already have more than I can handle).
