"SHOULDERS DOWN!" "SHOULDERS BACK!" "SHOULDERS!" "SHOULDERS!" "SHOULDERS!"
I think 'shoulders' is my new name...
I went in for my training session today, not hyped but not dreading it. I have my delusional thoughts that my body is alright, that the bored routine that I'm caught in is all I need. To some extent I guess I feel a need for someone else to agree with me, but while standing next to my trainer, I know that I am seriously lacking! She is fit and energetic, making me look like I sit around and have never done a squat in my life!
I think the biggest lessons she taught me today were that I tense my shoulders too much, I don't have very good balance, and my over-simplified routine is way too old. She now has me set up to do exercises that include several steps and work multiple areas. That's a big change from solitary bicep curls. And it demands a lot more focus on my form...how the heck can I keep track of my abs, gluts, knees, shoulders and head all at the same time?!
