Day 8

Today, I actually finished a project that I thought would take a week!

I am making a Valentine's basket for Emma, my niece who lives halfway across the country. We don't get to see her often so I figure that this is a sweet little treat to let her know that we care. :) This is the second time that I've sent her a set of Valentine goodies, so I have a feeling that this will become a trend, or maybe even tradition...

I found the plastic basket at The Dollar Tree. It's the perfect size for a child to use as a laundry basket for their dolls, plus it has little hearts that go great for my Valentine-theme. While I was at The Dollar Tree I also found some cute goodies to go inside it.

My favorite part of the basket is the little banner that I made. It doesn't work very well going around the basket, but I think it looks very cute by itself. I am going to suggest that they hang it up :). I also made a tag for Emma's name. I must say that I loved it about halfway through, but decided to mess it up by adding more stuff it didn't need!!

I still plan to get Meli and Riley to make their interpretations of Valentine's Day cards to be included (for Meli that will be abstract glitter-glue lines and stamps, for Riley that will be scribbles with crayons). Then it can be shipped and that will be one more project DONE!

  2. I love this! I like the tag just as it is, I don't think it is too much.
