Week 29

This week started out exciting...I woke up early to get to a 15k race! I was disappointed the day before when Brad said he would NOT be waking at 6 to get there with me. I got over it. Then I was up until 2, anxious, excited, nervous, worried... Once I made it to the start site, I didn't have time to feel any of those things. I had to get my packet and find a restroom. Brad surprised me just before the race, then I had to file to the road with a heap of other people. There I am with my pretty purple shorts! :)

I started out, ready to get it going. I can't decide whether I found the start more exciting or annoying.. At that point the road is congested with people and it can be pretty hard to get around slow-pokes while trying to avoid being ran over by others trying to get through. But at the same time, it's nice to know that you're out there with so many other people doing the same thing you're doing--pushing yourself to finish something worthwhile, no matter how long it takes you.

I had a goal time that I wanted to finish under (like most do) so I wore my stopwatch to keep track...within the last 1/2-mile I realized that I didn't have much spare time. I gunned it a little, then walked, then gunned a little more.. By the time the finish line came into sight, I was walking again. I looked down at my watch, saw I had less than a minute to finish within my goal, and I took off again. There was no stopping until I crossed the finish and checked my watch. Ooh, so close I was afraid. I told Brad I thought I made it about 30 seconds under my goal, but I had to see the official chart...I made it 28 seconds before! Wow, did I time it right or what! All I remember after checking my watch and telling Brad my time was that I staggered off to find the protein drinks and bars and to be by myself.

While Morgan has been with us, Brad found a bike at a thrift store so that she could ride with him while he jogged, pushing Meli and Riley in the stroller. Now our garage is PACKED with bicycles!!!

Practicing "Surprised Faces" at the mall!

We had a "Spa Night" for the girls. We packed a bunch of beauty goodies into the bigger bathroom and spent time chatting about their "shopping spree" while painting nails and making-up faces.

Dr. Meli fixing Morgan's wound.

El Chico lunch. The guys vs. the girls. :)

Fun at a pool! The kids took turns jumping off onto Dada/Uncle Brad. For the record, Meli is our little fish! She is now swimming on her own, from one end to the other without any help (through the 5ft.). She is so cute with her little cheeks blown-up full of air as she huffs through the water!

Then Meli and Morgan also enjoyed being thrown into the water by Dada/Uncle Brad.

At the end of Morgan's trip the kids were allowed to sleep together in Riley's room. It can get a bit out of control...but thankfully not too much to handle.

On Morgan's last day she lost her wiggly tooth.
