Week 48

Well, I tried getting some photos of the kids by the tree and this was the best I could get..

I tried to do an alphabet book project with the kids, but we only made it to letter C. Each day I choose an object that started with the letter of the day, then I would draw the object, write the letter and word and we would do something with the object. For example, B was "bell" so we made jingle-bell necklaces/bracelets.

Since I didn't follow through very well, maybe I'll get better prepared and reintroduce the idea next year. I think I could find a lot more creative activities for each object that way.

I intended to document the decorations we commonly set out for the holidays, but this seems to be the only piece that I followed through with. It tells it's own small story. My MIL made this back when she was very into latch-hook (I think that's what it is?). She gave this rug to us the first Christmas that Brad and I were together. It's one of my favorite decorations.

This year Brad's dad dug out this old train-set to put around the tree for Riley (is it a rule that little boys must love trains?). I think this train was Brad's dad's when he was a kid. Vintage. And very heavy.

An early visit to OKC to see Kathy and Emma. And while there, an attempt to get decent pictures of all of the cousins together.
